HERE IS MY STORY 

To cut the long story short…As initiator and founder of AfrikAktiv e.V, volunteering President and managing director since its creation, in 2014, a choir member of Kumbaya Gospel of AfrikAktiv asked” Susan, why do keep doing this festival after all these terrible losses, each year we as a choir have to stage under unpleasant circumstances due to weather.. I answered, weather is part of creation and nature and I can’t determine when it will rain..after planing for 1 year. She looked away and I understood her point but that was not my job,my job was to keep doing my work. 

In 2011, when we first experienced the first episode of rains, strong winds … Mr Rainer Kaltenmark – Commissioner Director of Law and order asked at a feedback meeting – Susan Tatah, why are you doing this to your self, you don’t  have an idea how much risk and consequences this is going to become for your family and future and I responded respectfully …Sir, it took more than 60 yrs since Africa was given independence and ever since the continent is undergoing developmental transformation, I feel chosen to be a part of this transformation and this is my controbution and work towards it. 

The fundamental energy and passion about my work and contributions not just for Africa, its Diaspora but it is for all who have a passion and drive for culture, togetherness, people, celebrations, families and children both young and old..each time even under terrible rains, African community and fans of African culture always show up  – under umbrellas..

I love Germany, I love my German heritage because the German culture has taught me how hard it took them to build Germany from scratch after their wars – I have learned that to build a nation, you must build a family, then a community and all these takes hard work, resilience and superior natural energy.  As long as the community exist, AfrikAktiv and its projects – Festivals amongst other Afrika Festivals Tübingen shall continue to exist. 

THIS JOURNEY HAS HELPED ME REDISCOVER MY SPIRITUALITY, – FINDING MY ANCESTORS WITHIN ME!!

Now I understand that my journey was not about work only but it was my Ancestral Call to serve humanity through this channel.  The only appropriate way to share this incredible experience, create awareness and give back to the community was to write this short book. 

Every penny generated through downloading of this Book, shall go into organizing Afrika Festival Tübingen 2026 and settle its outstanding 2025 bills. 

Currently the book serves as Fundraising tool for my Campaign 2026 fundraising, I do book readings, presentations, public speakings and panel discussions on the FIND YOUR ANCESTORS IN YOU for every events in Africa, Germany and beyond.
