AfrikAktiv e.V. and Afrika Festival Tübingen  Today

AfrikAktiv e.V. and the Afrika Festival Tübingen today represent more than a cultural event  they have evolved into a growing global platform for Africans, African descendants, and friends of Africa committed to culture, identity, innovation, entrepreneurship, education, and community-building.

For over two decades, the Afrika Festival Tübingen has connected people through music, arts, dialogue, food, storytelling, and cultural exchange. Today, the platform is entering a new phase focused on reconnection, empowerment, and sustainable community impact.

The 2026 Innovation Concept of the Afrika Festival Tübingen introduces two major community-centered initiatives:

• The Festival Family Village – a 5,000 sqm interactive arena dedicated to children, youth, parents, elders, and grandparents with activities designed to help families learn, connect, celebrate, and grow together through African cultural values and intergenerational exchange.

• The Women Expo, a special platform promoting locally handmade and locally produced products by women from rural communities across Africa. The initiative aims to empower women entrepreneurs, support grassroots economic development, preserve indigenous knowledge and craftsmanship, and create market visibility for authentic African-made products.

The new vision of AfrikAktiv focuses on reconnecting Africa with its global Diaspora and African descendants through shared cultural identity, innovation, and collaboration.

AfrikAktiv believes that culture is not only entertainment culture is education, identity, healing, economic empowerment, and community transformation. Through the Afrika Festival Tübingen, AfrikAktiv continues building bridges between Africa, Germany, Europe, the Caribbean, the Americas, and the wider global African family.
