My years of living in Germany have led me to realize that my journey has always been about two things: people and culture.
For over two decades, my primary occupations have been caring for the elderly and leading my organizations, festivals, media platforms, and community projects. Through these experiences, I gained valuable insights into human behavior, values, traditions, identity, and the role culture plays in shaping societies.
Every edition of the festival looked similar on the surface, yet each one was different. New themes, logos, projects, and ideas continuously emerged. My team often questioned why I kept expanding the concepts and introducing new elements. At times, I asked myself the same question.
Today, the answer is clear.
This search for meaning has naturally led me to my next chapter as an African Cultural Researcher.
I was never completely satisfied with the solutions because something always seemed missing, the original meaning behind the cultural elements we were presenting. Beyond the music, food, dance, fashion, and celebrations, I wanted to understand the deeper purpose, values, symbols, and knowledge systems that make African culture what it is.
My work now focuses on exploring the relationship between culture, identity, community, economics, and development, while seeking to better understand the original foundations of African cultural systems and their relevance for the future.
It is a journey I find both exciting and deeply meaningful, one that I believe will contribute to new conversations about Africa, its people, and its place in the world.
