Born and raised in Bamenda, Cameroon, in the heart of Africa, Dr. Susan Tatah spent her childhood, youth, and early adulthood in the rural African countryside commonly known as “The Village.” She grew up in an ecosystem deeply rooted in human connection, nature, community values, traditions, storytelling, and collective living — where people, culture, and relationships are at the center of everyday life.
This strong African foundation shaped her worldview, leadership style, communication approach, and lifelong mission of building bridges between people, cultures, and communities.
Her journey from Cameroon to the global stage is therefore not accidental. Dr. Susan Tatah was born and raised in an environment where African values such as togetherness, hospitality, respect, community interactions, celebrations, crowds, traditions, spirituality, and social responsibility are not theories, but a way of life.
Although she later relocated to Germany and studied International Marketing and Business Administration at the European School of Business, Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences, Germany, her African identity and way of life have never left her. Instead, she transformed her experiences into purpose-driven platforms, projects, and global community initiatives.
Her dissertation on “How to Promote Africa in Germany through Festivals” reflected not only an academic interest, but a long-term vision and calling, to create spaces where Africa, its people, cultures, values, and contributions can be visible, respected, experienced, and celebrated internationally.
